This Classic Italian Columba dove cake is made by our first class panettone makers Gilber, in Turin. Gilber uses quadruple leavened dough, candied orange peel and a sweet hazelnut and sugar glaze to make this Italian Easter classic. This cake is wrapped in red paper and white ribbon and makes for a lovely gift. (NB please note the wrapped cake shown on your left is a slightly different colour to this Classic cakeโ€™s wrapping).

Classic Colomba Dove Cake, 750g.

The Columba cake has been around since the 12th Century, and its dove shape symbolises peace. Light and delicate, it has a hazelnut frosting and really does melt in the mouth. The attractive hand-wrapping makes for a good-looking Easter gift too.

Ingredients: Wheat flour, candied orange peel (orange peel, glucose and fructose syrup, sugar), butter, egg yolk, sugar, hazelnut frostings 10% (sugar, egg white, hazelnuts, rice flour). Natural leavening (wheat flour, water), inverted sugar syrup. Decoration: white almonds and granulated sugar, emulsifier: mono and diglycerides of fatty acid of vegetable origin, salt. Natural flavouring of orange. May continan traces of peanuts, soya, and pistachio.
